At AH SchootenPlaza, we make conscious choices every day. Both in and behind the store, we focus on sustainability, waste reduction, and community involvement.
From solar energy to quality marks, and from Too Good To Go to local partnerships—small steps collectively make a big difference.

Energy from our own roof

Our store partly runs on solar energy. We limit energy loss with day covers and by reusing residual heat.

Too Good To Go

Via the website or app, you can rescue surprise packages with leftover products. Good for the environment and your wallet.

Bread to the Food Bank

What we no longer sell, we donate to the Food Bank. This way, less goes to waste and we help others.

Return deposits

By returning deposit bottles and cans, you help with recycling and reduce litter on the streets. You can also donate this way, you immediately make an impact for a good cause.

Drop-off point for frying fat and appliances

Used frying fat, old batteries, light bulbs, and small electrical appliances can be safely handed in with us. Convenient and better for the environment.

Internal waste separation

Behind the scenes, we separate paper, cardboard, and plastic. This way, we keep waste streams organized.

MSC certification

Fish with the MSC quality mark is sustainably caught. This way, you consciously choose for the future of the sea.
