In the Netherlands and Belgium, there are over 1,200 Albert Heijn supermarkets. AH SchootenPlaza is one of the franchise locations — which means we operate under the familiar AH formula, but are otherwise independent.

We started in 1970 with a Spar store in the De Schooten neighborhood. Since 1984, we have been affiliated with Albert Heijn. Over the years, our store has been extensively renovated and expanded.

Meanwhile, we’ve grown into Den Helder’s largest supermarket. And that’s not just thanks to our extensive assortment — we know the city, are at the heart of the neighborhood, and are happy to do more for our customers.

Always fresh, always reliable

Quality is paramount for us. From vegetables to dairy — we check daily for freshness, hygiene, and presentation. Our regular fresh produce suppliers ensure top-quality products, and our team keeps a close eye on everything: from temperature to shelf life, from appearance to product safety.
